MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The scene inside FedEx Forum was aglow…the stars on stage…fans in their seats at the American Idol Tour 2009 in Memphis, but for Lil Rounds it was all about being back home.Sumber: [Link]Rounds says, "Memphis I love you."
Performing for a hometown crowd Rounds says the moments before the show would be the hardest.
Rounds says, "For a minute I think I'm gonna have to just really take a huge breath before I even start singing because this is going to be a welcome I been waiting on since the tour started."
Fans in attendance were all across the Mid-South and beyond. Thousands packed the forum to see their favorite idol, but before the show the idols talked to FOX13 News.
Megan Joy, famous for her voice and sleeve inked arm, remembers why American Idol and this tour is so important.
Megan Joy says, "Just walking out on stage and getting to do what I love is more than I could ever imagine and I get a financial support for myself and my son which is a dream come true."
Matt Giraud tells FOX13News while he's been to Nashville and Gatlinburg, Memphis is a spot on the tour he's been looking forward to, but with little time to sight see Graceland was a must.
Giraud says, "It was kinda like almost like going to Motown it was like this is where it happened."
Fan favorite Adam Lambert now knows what it takes to make it through a 50 city tour.
Lambert says, "You just have to take care of yourself and get your sleep and rest your voice when you can."
But Lambert says even today when he steps on the stage the thought of a stadium filled with fans is an awe inspiring thing.
Lambert says, "It's that feeling that rush you get that exchange between you and the audience there's nothing like it."
Danny Gokey, who lost his wife just weeks before trying out for American Idol, says through her passing he's been able to touch lives not only with his voice on stage, but with his foundation to help children.
Gokey says, "It's a nonprofit organization that I started in my wife's name it's basically dedicated to children families and youth."
